HAPPY HOLIDAYS 2005

This has been a year of change for us. Chris and Heather's new son, Jasper, makes us new grandparents. Sarah's wedding marks a beginning for her and her new family.
Pictures are: 1) Grandma and Grandpa and Jasper; 2) our traditional "cousins on the stairs" picture: Sarah, her brother Noah and our sons Steve and Chris; 3) Jasper being "cool".

We have been fortunate to see so much of Jasper, both in Madison, Seattle and at a large Thanksgiving celebration in California. We made a trip to Madison to visit Chris and Heather and to Detroit to see Steve, where he is doing a post-doc at Wayne State U.

Andrew and Sarah's wedding in Seattle was a festive event, with fun people and a pretty and vivacious bride. It was also a wonderful reunion for us, as all of our family was there, including many of Mike's mother's family, especially "Uncle Bud", being his usual expansive and expressive self. We returned home from Seattle on the AMTRAK train - it was relaxing...we had our own sleeper and the food wasn't bad. We saw no x-ray machines. We met many other grandparents on their way to visit grandchildren. It beats driving.

We had a fabulous three days at Lake Tahoe with Phil and Sue, who were wonderful tour guides. There is so much to see. Then we drove to Carson City to visit sister Carol and Steve who have finally bought a condo there, just over the hill from Tahoe.

Marylyn is working less and having fun. She went to Hawaii twice and to Russian River with her spiritual group. They have wonderful adventures together. Mary, Marylyn's mother, moved from Fresno to Sunnyvale, just a 15-minute ride away, and she seems happy and secure.

Much sailing for Mike...using "Impetuous" many times this year on the bay and then 2,000 miles of sailing with friends to and from Mexico. Mike missed his 45th college reunion but kept in touch with several classmates electronically and dinner with a few.

Our thought for this year..... "Behold, new things have come." 2nd Corinthians, 5:17

We appreciate each and every one of you who are in our lives and enrich us....
