HAPPY HOLIDAYS 2002

This has been a year of celebrations for us. Steve received his PhD in Chemistry ("Great!"). Chris married Heather ("Wow!). Marylyn's nursing class had their 40th reunion, with an almost-complete turnout of old friends. Our church performed John Rutter's "Requiem", one of Mike's favorites. College classmate Dick Zimmerman performed a ragtime concert in an SF Victorian. Pictures are of Heather and Jackie (Steve's friend).

Celebrations included the passing of dear friends and great things: Dr. David Zlotnick, a wonderful man with a zest for life. Also the "Hewlett-Packard way"..."R.I.P."

Our grand journey this year was a three-week trip to Italy. Venice with it's unique canals was a favorite, and the art in Florence, the back roads and hillside towns in Tuscany, the religious city of Assisi, and the treasures of Rome were awe-inspiring. And wonderful food!

Marylyn is still chiropracting and dealing with ever-changing laws.

Sailing? Mike joined the Schultz's on their new yacht for 1000 miles of sailing in the Norwegian fjords....superb! In October, Mike sailed 2500 miles on another boat for six weeks from SFO to Cabo San Lucas (Baja) and back. Marylyn met him there for four wonderful days, celebrating our anniversery with our dear friends, Alan and Barbara Steiner. And Mike sailed across the Atlantic too, in December.

We were fortunate to visit Assisi...where Saint Francis said:

"Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace....let me bring love... pardon...faith...hope...light...joy; and all for thy mercy's sake."

Our very best wishes to you and those around you for your own celebrations.
